Andrew Brown jealousy takes over his emotions. In the article Community Acts to Tragic Shooting Andrew Brown committed a horrible crime/massacre. Just because him and his girl friend, Tiffany Howard, broke up. Michael Fisher was just picking up Tiffany and going to bring her home, but Andrew Brown didn’t like this. Brown followed Michael’s car and soon Tiffany noticed he was following them. Brown then proceeded to pull up next to the Ford Explorer in his Chevrolet. Tiffany knew Brown was a little mad about the break up so she called the police. The police gave them directions to the closest police station. How scary would this be if you were Tiffany to know he is going to do something to you? Or has she told the rest of the car? Is she freaking out? Would you be? Andrew Brown fired a shot and hit the driver, Michael fisher. The car stopped and Brown blocked off their car. What would you do if you were Tiffany and you ex boy friend are walking to your car with a gun? Run? Or try to talk to him? Brown then fired more bullets killing Michael Fisher. I think he went for Michael first because Brown probably thought he was trying to take “his” girl. Jealousy…Then Andrew Brown dragged Tiffany into the field and beat her with his shot gun. While Andrew was running back to his car the police finally showed up! What would have happened if the police showed up sooner? Would Michael Fisher still of died? Then Andrew Brown shot himself to death. My cousins go to Doherty High School. When I read this I called them right away to see if they were ok. I wanted to know if it was one of their friends or best friends or what. Andrew Brown didn’t just ruin a couple of people’s lives he ruined a ton: the community, friends, teachers, and family. I think there should be a faster way to get a hold of the police. This happens way to many times. I just pray to God it doesn’t happen again. Especially to any of my friends, family, or even at out school. Please God….

A freshman student attending CU at Boulder got slashed across the neck with a knife. This disturbing article, CU Attack Suspect Ruled Incompetent for Trial, talked about the dangers in our world. This was not even on the streets hanging out this was in school! Kenton Astin was charged of murder and assault. He is waiting for his final trial. In my opinion Kenton should be imprisoned for life-time. If we let this go people will just be doing crimes just to see how much they can get a way with. At some point we have to step in! If a student is caught for cheating but the teacher just gives him a warning, then that student is going to do it again. What if this happened at our school? I am a freshman, Michael Knorps was a freshman. Should I have the fear of a senior doing this to me? Schools let so much go…They need to be stricter. I came from a private school and am now attending a public school. I like public schools better because you have more freedom, but at some point the school needs to step in and make people pay for what they did. I don’t know what caused Kenton Astin to do this to Michael Knorps but it must have been something big. Or Kenton is insane! Do people in this world not forgive each other? Or do they still believe in “eye for an eye?” For someone to have the urge to kill someone or try to they must be insane or that person must of done something absolutely horrible. Something absolutely horrible is if Michael would have killed someone that is close to Kenton. This article scares me because my sister goes to CU. I wonder if she has ever seen anything like this. Or if she is safe. I couldn’t imagine losing my sister. She is always there for me and if someone murdered her I don’t think I could live. Do you think schools are safe? Do you think school administration is strict enough? Or is Columbine going to keep re-occurring?

At King Middle School in Portland, Maine teachers are handing out condoms and patches! At a middle school, are you kidding me??? When I heard this I almost flipped. This is so against my religion to you, I can’t even explain. There were 17 pregnancies in the last four years. Were talking about eleven to thirteen year old girls! Who even knew what sexual interaction was at eleven years old?? These teachers are giving kids condoms without the concept of their parents. What kind of sick person would give an eleven year old kid a condom? I believe you should wait until you are married to have sex, but these kids are losing their virginity at eleven!!! When the parents found out about this I wonder what their reactions were. Or how many parents took their kid out of King Middle School. If I could pick one thing to be in the article, Maine Middle School to Offer Birth Control. If I had a kid I know he wouldn’t be attending that school anymore. I think the school should be sewed. Especially since the parents didn’t know about this. I think this is one of the worst sins you could commit besides murder!

Every week one of our better players gets injured. The broncos might fall apart if we can’t stay healthy. Javon Walker is out because he had surgery on his right knee last Friday. This is so big because he is a humongous part in the Broncos offense. Walker is also one of my favorite players on the broncos. With out Javon our offense is about half as good when it comes to passing. Even though Brandon Marshall gets thrown to the most, Javon Walker makes the defense make huge decisions. Everyone in the league knows if you let him go free he will kill you. So they have to shade Javon Walker’s side which lets Brandon Marshall and Brandon Stokley get open. My family lives, breathes, and dies Broncos. If the Broncos lose it ruins our whole weekend. We go to the stadium early in the morning even if it is a late game. Its not just Javon Walker that’s out, it is a few other valuable players. Walker Could Miss Six Weeks; Bailey a Game-Time Decision told me everything I need to know about the Broncos injured players. I can relate a lot with Javon Walker right now because I am out with a sprained ankle. Like Javon Walker, I really want to play, but the trainers won’t let me. Who wants to sit out and watch there team upset the Pittsburgh Steelers. I hope Javon Walker gets better so we can make a better run at the Super Bowl!!!

Our investigators or police can’t even find enough information to find out who killed a 26 year old man? “Mother Offers $5000 for Info in Case of Slain Son.” Preston Jenkins was walking into his apartment, in Denver, when he got murdered. A guy dragged him into his apartment door and laid him next to a woman. Preston heard muffling in the room. The woman said he got shot two times. She escaped. In the article it never said what happened to her. I wonder why she doesn’t give information to the mom or police. This scares me because it is so close. It is only about twenty-five minutes away from my house. If my mom or dad or sister died and the police couldn’t find out who killed him or her I don’t know what I would do. Could I control myself? Could you? Or would you go insane? I would want to find that person so bad. And if I did I don’t know what I would do. Would I kill him or her? Or just turn him in? All the adrenaline that would be flowing, could I control myself? Again this brings me to my question I asked last week in my blog. Should we limit the ability to buy guns? This reminds me of all the shootings at schools. What if an insane person came to our school and started shooting. What would you do? I know I would just freeze in the middle of my step. I don’t know if I could handle to see someone die in front of me. Could you? But if I could find anything to help this mom I know I would help her. Would you? Even if it was a friend?

How Much Do You Value Test Scores? That is such a great question. I think test scores are worth way to much of your grade. Some teachers don’t give a lot of assignments; they just grade you off your participation and tests. I participate but sometimes I don’t do the best on tests. In one of my classes I have a “C” because of one test. If teachers are going to give big tests I think it should be required that they give you other chances just in case you do poor. At the end of the quarter I think if you’re a good student, but your grade is not where you want it I think you should be given a chance to raise it. How would teachers determine if you’re a good student? I think you’re a good student if: you respect your teacher, aren’t a distraction, want a good grade, and turn in all your work. You shouldn’t give someone another chance that hasn’t tried or doesn’t care. That is just a cop out. You have to work to get this opportunity. Mrs. Comp gives us tests, assignments, and participation grades. This is a great variety. Teachers should also teach more than education. They should teach life lessons! If you just take tests and not learn anything outside of school you will not be successful in life. Arapahoe is a great school because it helps gain responsibility. We take what we have for granted!

Should we be more strict with who and who can't buy guns. I have mixed emotions on this subject. What if someone is using it for a good casue like protection? But how do we know who is and who isn't using it for a good cause? The article, "Two Detectives Hurt In Bronx Shooting," caught my eye because in my current events class we were talking about the limitation of guns. Jermaine Taylor had a semiautomatic pistol and was shooting rapid fire at police. Taylor injured two police officers one across the forehead and one across the right shin. This is one of my biggest fears, is for a person that has a family to get killed because of some idiot. How would you feel if that was your dad that was in that position? I couldn't do it. In his appartment they found seven people and three pit bulls. The pit bulls were watching the people. JUst think if youo were the neighbors and you head gun shootings and screams. What would you do? You don't want to look out the door or window because you might get shot. What if a relative is coming home and you dont know if he or she is involved. How would you feel? I just can't imagine living in that kind of world; gun shots, screams, dead bodies, police lights. Could you live in that situation?

How can people do through this world and not know what matters to them? Do they just walk around not talk? Everyone has a voice, an opinion. Use it! Mr Fisch's post, "What Matters" means a lot to me. I just can't understand how people could say what if i don't have an opinion or I don't care. Even if you don't care about a lot of things I still think you have to believe in something. Some of my beliefs are God created everything, He is our Savior, there is a life after you die, love at first sight, work ethic, and if you work hard you can get what you want. Some people my disagree with those things (like John Pie) but that doesn't mean I have to change my beliefs because someone doesn't agree with me. Be you own person! Now there is a difference between someone pursuading you to alter your beliefs and you just believing what they believe, so your not different. An example is if a basketball coach believes in more shooting than running in pre-season he is not going to change that just because another coach thinks different. An exception would be if the coach that believes in shooting is not as successful as the coach that believes in running. Then the shooting coach might alter his beliefs just to see what happens if he makes his team run more. Or a bad altering of your beliefs would be if someone wanted you to smoke when you think smoking is bad, but you do it just to be cool or accepted. Peer pressure! The teachers are doing us a big favor by making us do reports or papers about what matters to us because it tells ourselves who we are. If we go through life not knowing what we believe in, then what are we living for? Were just an object on the earth not a person!

What kind of idiot would steal a car, with out lights and a siren, and be in a hot pursuit? At least have a car that has lights so it doesn't look suspicious. How dumb can people be? Clement Bourgeois was charged with kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and burglary charges. This scares me because what if someone stole your car. Or broke into your house. Or what if you were just sitting in Burger King eating your cheese burgers and a guy walks in with a gun and maybe shoots you or just steals food. How scary would that be? Or are you just suppose to be like"Hey dude I'm eating, keep it down." Or what if you were driving a long on the high way and a hot pursuit is in action. You don't know what could happen. They could be drunk, high, or just crazy. One of my biggest fears is to be in a car accident. If someone is in the car with you and dies, how bad would you feel? Even if the accident wasn't your fault, I would still feel like I could've done something to prevent it. Some crimes people commit are out of complete stupidity. People don't think of consequences. They just live in the moment, and don't look at the future. Is some food or a car really worth wasting some of your life behind bars? Are you kidding me who wants to live on a specific schedule and sleep on uncomfortable beds? The answer is no one.

Are you kidding me? We have teachers living in this world, at our school, that don't know how to use computers! How can you live in this world and not know how to use computers? Unbelievable! We use computers everyday, sometimes more than once a day. While I was reading, "Is It Okay To Be A Technologically Illiterate Teacher?" Mr. Fisch brought up some interesting topics. He questioned our future (students), he questioned if teachers should keep their job, and if teachers should learn the new technology. If we don't learn the new technology we will be limited to fewer opportunities for jobs. Pretty soon, new technology is going to come in and if we don't know the basics, how are we going to understand this revolutionary, new technology? That is like me trying to run before I know how to walk. You can't do it! Technology is a process just like the process of walking to running. If teachers are technologically illiterate how can they teach us these new frontiers. To teach teens education today, you need to know how to use the computer. If you don't you should either learn or find a new carreer. That is like if my basketball coach doesn't know the new, improved drills that will benefit us the most. I want the best coach I can get. I don't want some coach that only knows the old drills. Just like I want the best teacher, that will help me be successful in life. Or another example is if I get a driver's education teacher that only knows half the rules. That won't help me! Just like not learning about technology will hurt me when I get out of school. We are living in the present not the past!

When I read this article a scary thought sparked in my mind. What if we have a civil war: blacks vs. whites? This article, "Jena 6" told us how racial Jena, Louisiana is. In the article it talked about how the whites wouldn't let the blacks be in a particular part of the cafeteria. One day the blacks walked in the "white area" and this was "against the rules." Just think how stupid it would be if we couldn't eat at Chipotle because white people weren't a loud. Later on that day, a white peson hung nooses on a tree. Some people say this is what caused the six black males to jump the white male. The school only suspened the white people for a half day, and some of the black males are in jail. I think this is so un fair. How can you be so lop-sided for their punishments just because they are different colors. I don't understand how people can think a white person is better than a black, or a black person is better than a white. Everyone should be treated equal when it comes to punishments. A little crime is a little crime. A felony is a felony, no matter what race you are!

The article I read was "Did you Know" by Karl Fisch. This article was about how technology has changed through out the years, comparison of different countries, where the world is going, and peoples daily uses. Some examples of these are computers to lap tops, comparing graduating classes, China is going to be prodominately English speaking, and text messages.
This applies to my daily life because I am using these different appliances every day and I need to know about whats going on in the World. In school we use computers almost every day. Just think how different school would be if we didn't have computers. We don't just use computers in school, after school we will go home and check our Myspaces or E-Mails. Ask yourself this question, if you lived fifty years back how would you life be different?

The title of the article i read was "OJ Simpson arrested and charged with felonies." I got this article in the New York Times, and it was wrote by Steve Friess. This article is about how bad OJ Simpson messed up. OJ was caught stealing sports memorabilia by Alfred Beardsley and Bruce L. Fromong. OJ Simpson and four companions stole photographs and books singned by OJ, lithographs of Joe Montana, and Beardsley's cell phone. OJ Simpson could spend up to seventy years in jail, and minimun amount in the bars is six years!
I just can't believe how some of these multi milianaires can be so stupid. They have everything in the world they could imagine, and then they make one stupid decision and it ruins most of their life. What would drive you to steal something, when you could just buy it? In OJ Simpson's past he is convicted of murdering his wife and her friend. Don't you think he would learn from that?
